Abdul Samad was born on 28 October 2001 in Kalakote, Jammu & Kashmir, India. He belong to a Sports family, Samad’s father Mohammad Farooq is a former cricket player who has played some senior level cricket for Jammu & kashmir club cricket as a fast bowler. Samad had a great desire to play cricket since childhood, he used to play cricket with his father and brother in the streets of his locality, but his mother wanted to make Samad a doctor and engineer as he was good in academics as well.
But his mother quickly recognized her son’s cricketing potential. Samad’s father also encouraged Samad to play sports because he himself was a sports person, after which Samad became more serious in cricket. His father got him enrolled in the Maulana Azad Stadium Coaching Center, where he Samad’s father also encouraged Samad to play sports because he himself was a sports person, after which Samad became more interested in cricket.

After that he played for Under19 Jammu & kashmir cricket team for One years before entering the senior team.
A torning point for Samad when he was spotted by the Indian Former all rounder Irfan Pathan during the cricket camp which held in science college jammu. That time Irfan was the mentor of Jammu & kashmir state team. Irfan saw Abdul Samad’s cricketing potential and excellent batting skills in that camp, and he got Samad a chance to play in the senior Jammu and Kashmir team.
After that He made his T20 Debut for Jammu & Kashmir against Nagaland on 21 february 2019. Later, Samad made his List “A” debut for j&k against Rajasthan on 27 september 2019 in 2019-20 Vijay Hazari Trophy. He made his first-class debut for Jammu & Kashmir against Uttrakhand on 9 December 2019, in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy.
After played very well in domestic cricket Samad got a chance to play in ipl, Samad bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2020 ipl auction for Indian premier league 2020 tournament. He Made his ipl debut for SRH against Delhi Capitals on 29 September 2020. Sunrisers Hyderabad Retained Abdul Samad in 2023 ipl player auction for Indian premier league 2023 tournament.
