Abrar’s family moved to Karachi in 1977 before that they are living in Shinkiari, Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Abrar’s elder brother taught him an interest in cricket. Abrar used to play tape-ball cricket since childhood and he got recognition very quickly. From the beginning, his mother and his siblings all supported him in cricket but his father was not in support of his cricket career.
But seeing his son’s curiosity towards cricket, he also started supporting Abrar after some time. Abrar Ahmad made his domastic cricket debut in 2016 when He was playing for under 19 for karachi. On 2017 Abrar was selectod for the Karachi Kings for Pakistan Super League. 20 November 2020 He made his First class debut for Sindh, Agaianst SouthernPunjab In Quaid-E-Azam trophy.
In2021 He made his List A debut for the Pakistan Shaheen Against Shri lanka A. On 9 Decemebrer 2022 Abrar made his test series debut for Pakistan against England in the second test match. In that match Abrar takes 7 wickets. His Performanc earn Alot limelight after he took seven wickets in that series.
