BRETT LEE ABOUT:

Brett Lee a Australian cricketer , who was born on November 8, 1976, played in all three versions of the game before retiring. Lee has earned a reputation as one of the quickest bowlers in the world throughout his international career. Lee earned less than 20 runs for each wicket he took in each of his first two seasons, but eventually recorded figures in the low 30s.

He was a skilled outfielder with a batting average over 20 in Test cricket. He was also a useful lower-rank batsman. With 310 wickets in tests and 380 in one-day internationals, Lee finished his career. Only Muttiah Muralitharan, one of the finest bowlers of his period, grabbed more ODI wickets than Lee between 2000 and 2009.

Lee started out as a young player with the Oak Flats Rats, the local team, and worked his way up. He also participated in Middleton’s cricket team before beginning a distinguished career. At age 16, he started playing first-class cricket for Mosman and Campbelltown, where he finally shared the new ball with Shoaib Akhtar and temporarily shared the field with England batsman Andrew Strauss. While playing for Campbelltown, he was successful in taking certain New South Wales sportsmen out for the season.

Both the Australian U17 and 19 teams have called Lee up. Stress fractures in his lower back caused him to leave the Australian U19 team in March 1994 and head to India. He was given a scholarship at the AIS Australian Cricket Academy for the 1995–1996 season. Internationals Mike Hussy and Jason Gillespie were among his contemporaries.

In the Sheffield Shield 1997–98 competition, Lee made his debut as the New South Wales Blues’ twelfth man for the games against Queensland on November 14–16. He made his outstanding Blues debut the following week against Western Australia, taking 3 wickets out of 114, including the captain Tom Moody’s. For the rest of the season, Sheffield Shield would see him only once. On November 30, against Bankstown, in the Sydney Grade Limited Overs Cup Final, he finished off a spectacular month by picking up five wickets.

After suffering a serious ankle injury in 2009, he left the One Day International format in February 2010. Lee played for numerous T20 teams throughout the world after retirement, including the IPL. He played for the 2012 champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and was a member of their team.
