She loved sports since childhood, She played many sports like kho kho, Athletics, Volleyball, cricket during her childhood. She used to play cricket accasionally with boys in her neighbourhood. After some time, Dayalan started taking cricket very seriously and decided to make cricket his career. After that At the age of seventeen She started training in cricket formally at the MAC Spin foundation under the coach Peteer Farnandez.
Although Hemlatha’s parents were not happy with her decision to become a professional cricketer, they did not want her to become a cricketer, but when she was selected for the Tamil Nadu Under-19 team, after that parents supported her. She started playing domastic cricket for Tamil nadu Under 19 , Uner 19 South Zone, Senoir Tamil Nadu, Senior South Zone, Indian Railways, Central Zone, India D.
Currently she is playing for Gujrat Ginats for the Inaugural season of the Women Premier league 2023. Played well in domastic she got achance to play for India National team. Hemalatha made her Women oneday International (WODI) Debut for India National team against Shrilanka on 11 September 2018. On 9 November 2018, She made her women’s t20 International debut for India Against New Zealand. Hemlatha is yet to make her test debut in the India national team.
