Sabbhineni Meghana is an Indian cricketer who plays for India National women’s cricket team. She currently plays for Railway team. Meghana is India opening batter and plays primarily as a Right-handed batter. Sabbhineni Meghana is a top-order batter for India women’s cricket team. Sabbhaneni Meghana was born on 7 June 1996 in Krishna, Andhra Pardesh, India. Meghana was very interested in sports since childhood, she used to play badminton, skating, swimming, cricket from the beginning, she has also participated in national level junior competition in skating. Meghana’s father also used to play cricket in the neighbourhood, which made Meghana’s interest in cricket increased further.
Meghna started playing cricket from seventh standard in the cricket camp in her school. After that Meghna started cricket training under the coach Srinivasa Reddy at the Cricket Academy in Vijayawada. In 2008 Meghana was selected in Andhra Pradesh Under 19 and started training under former Indian cricketer and coach Poornima Rao and represented Andhra Pradesh in Under 19. After that she was also selected to play for Andhra Pradesh under 23 and senior team of Andhra Pradesh as well.
She played many domastic cricket such as Under 19 Andhra Pradesh, Under 23 Andhra Pardesh, South zone, South central Railways, India A, Trailblazers and currently she is playing for Gujrat Giants in Womens premier league 2023. Played well in Domastic cricket she got a chance to play for India National women’s cricket team.
She made her Women Twenty20 International (WT20I) match for India Against West Indies On 20 November 2016. After 6 Years later, Maghana made her Women Oneday international(WODI) debut for India Against New Zealand on 12 February 2022.
