Devon Philip Conway was born on 8 July 1991 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, Province, South Africa. Seeing his interest in cricket, his father got him to join a cricket club where he honed his batting skills and after a lot of hard work, he started playing domestic matches for his native region of South Africa. In August 2015, he was included in Gauteng’s squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.
He played all three formats of cricket for the Gauteng team but at the age of 26, He moved to New Zealand to pursue a cricket career. After that, He started playing cricket for New Zealand domestic teams and leagues. In June 2018, Conway was awarded a contract with Wellington for the 2018-19 season in New Zealand. He played many matches for Wellington with great performance. In 2020 He was signed by Somerset County Cricket Club to play in the 2021 T20 Blast which was held in England.
In March 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Conway would be eligible to play for New Zealand. Devon made his T20 International debut for New Zealand on 27 November 2020, against the West Indies. Conway made his One Day International (ODI) debut for New Zealand on 20 March 2021, against Bangladesh. Conway made his Test debut for New Zealand on 2 June 2021 against England.
Due to his brilliant performance, he got a chance to play in Ipl and In February 2022 ipl auction Devon was bought by the Chennai Super Kings at the price of 1 Crore Rs for the 2022 Ipl Tournament. In the 2023 Ipl Auction Devon Conway was retained by the Chennai Super Kings at the price of 1 Crore Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League Tournament.
