Haris was very fond of sports from the age of teenagers, when he was studying in Islamabad College, he was more interested in football than cricket. In 2017 He joined the cricket team of International Islamic University, Islamabad, when one of his school sports teacher advoce him to go for a trail of the Lahore Qalander team, He Agreed and finaly he got selected in Lahore Qalander domastic team.
Haris Rauf was selected by Lahore Qalandars for the Abu Dhabi T20 2018 Trophy after which he made his domestic cricket debut. Haris joined the Melbourne Stars for 2019-20 Big Bash League season as replacement for Dale Steyn who was injured. On 24 Jan 2020 Haris Rauf gets a chance to make his debut in Pakistan National Team for T20 International against Bangladesh. Harish Rauf made his One Day International debut in Pakistan National Team against Zimbabwe on 30 October 2020 at Rawalpindi cricket stadium.
In January 2021 he was named in the categary “C” of the centrally contracted players 2020-21 by the pakistan cricket board. In September 2021, Rauf was named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He took a four-for against New Zealand to the win man-of-the-match for Pakistan.
On 1 December 2022, Haris Rauf got a chance to debut in the Pakistan team in the Test series against England. After debuting in all three formats, Haris Rauf got a chance to play in many matches for Pakistan. In February 2022, Rauf was named in Pakistan’s Test squad for their series against Australia. After some time In August 2022, Rauf was named in Pakistan’s squad for Asia cup.
