Kyle Rico Mayers was born on 8 September 1992 in Bridgetown, Barbados. Kyle was always passionate about cricket since childhood and started playing at a young age. Kyle’s family didn’t have enough money to support his passion for the sport.
Myers started playing matches for his school, after which he played local matches for all the clubs. Kyle’s father Shirley Clarke has also been a cricketer, he used to play first-class cricket for Barbadians, seeing which Kyle’s interest in cricket increased and he decided to become a professional cricketer, for which he enrolled in a cricket club and developed his skills.
Later he started his cricket career and Kyle was part of West Indies’s squad for the 2012 Under19 Cricket world cup. He made his first-class debut for the Barbados team in 2012. In October 2019 He was Selected to play for the Barbados team in the 2019-20 Regional Super50 tournament. Soon He was seen as a future star early on in his career and with his aggressive performance in the Domestic and Under19 World Cup he was noticed by the West Indies Selectors and got a chance to play for the West Indies National team.
Kyle made his T20 International debut for West Indies on 29 November 2020 against the New Zealand team. Mayers made his One Day International (ODI) debut for West Indies Team on 20 January 2021 against the Bangladesh team. He made his Test Debut for West Indies Team on the same tour against Bangladesh on 3 February 2021.
He also gets a chance to play in the world’s most famous league Ipl, In 2022 Ipl Auction Mayers was bought by the Lucknow Super Gianst at the price of 50 Lakhs Rs for the 2022 Ipl Tournament. In the 2023 Ipl Auction Kyle Mayers was retained by the Lucknow Super Giants at the price of 50 Lakhs Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League Tournament. Mayers made his Ipl debut for Lucknow on 1 April 2023 against Delhi Capitals and he scored 73 runs off 38 Balls.
