Liam Andrew Dawson bats right-handed, and bowls left-arm orthodox spin. He made his international debut for England in July 2016 and has since played all three formats of the game for England, the last being in 2017. He continued his impressive form with the ball in T20 cricket, taking 14 more wickets. In 2013, after falling out of favor at Hampshire, Dawson moved to Essex on loan. Dawson performed well during the loan and when he returned to Hampshire, he regained his place in the team. In 2016, he took 29 wickets in the Championship and 13 in List A cricket as his bowling continued to improve.
In October 2017, following the 2017–19 Bangladesh Premier League draft, Dawson was named in the squad for the Comilla Victorians team. In April 2021, he was bought by the London Spirit for the 2023 season of The Hundred.
