Mahmudullah Riyad is one of the top players in the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. Mahmudullah Riyad was born in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh on February 4, 1986. He learned cricket at his hometown of Mymensingh, which is 115 kilometers north of the city, before moving to Dhaka. He visits Dhaka for the first time in 2000 to compete in the ACC U15 competition. He participated in the U 19 World Cup in 2004 while still at home and went on to play first-class cricket.

On June 25, 2011, Mahmudullah Riyad married Jannatul Kawsar Mishti, with whom he has a son. Jannatul Kifayet, the sister-in-law of Riyad, wed Mushfiqur Rahim, one of Bangladesh’s most dependable players.

Mahmudullah, an all-around player of outstanding talent, made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2007. He was included to the timeline because of his outstanding performance in his first Test match against the West Indies in 2009, when he took five wickets. He is now the third bowler from Bangladesh to record five wickets in a Test debut. Because to his outstanding effort, Bangladesh defeated West Indies in the game. Even though he was batting at number 8, he made a test ton against New Zealand.

One of the most crucial Bangladeshi players for the World Cup team was Riyad. Mahmudullah and Tamim scored 139 runs as a team against Scotland on March 5, 2015. Later, Bangladesh chased a massive run and won thanks to Shakib and Mushfiqur’s great play. For the first time in the 2015 World Cup, Bangladesh is the side with the highest run chase against Scotland.

Mahmudullah became the first cricketer from Bangladesh to score a century in a World Cup match. Together with Mushfiqur, Riyad scored one of the biggest partnerships for the fifth wicket, totaling 141 runs. Bangladesh defeated England with the greatest score in an ODI, eliminating them from the World Cup 2015 competition. Rubel Hossain’s effective bowling helped Bangladesh win the match and go to the quarterfinals. Mahmudullah hit an undefeated 128 runs against New Zealand in the final World Cup group stage match of 2015. He was the only Bangladeshi player to make consecutive tons in ODI cricket, which he did with great success.

In a match against New Zealand on June 9, 2017, Mahmudullah Riyad and Shakib Al Hasan produced a fantastic catch. Together, they set a record by scoring the most runs in a partnership for the fifth wicket with the Bangladeshi player. When 4 wickets fell in 33 runs while chasing 266 runs, Mahmudullah and Shakib added 224 runs. Bangladesh won the game thanks to his third ODI century of 102 runs not out of 107. Mahmudullah scored three ODI ton in his career, two at the 2015 World and one at the 2017 Champions Trophy. He also scored centuries against England and New Zealand.
