Meghna plays as a bowler, she is a right handed batsman and right arm medium bowler. Meghna was born on 18 June 1994Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India. She has been passionate about cricket since childhood.
She grown up played cricket with the children of her area. She used to be the only girl playing cricket in their area with boys. Meghna started taking professional cricket training from Lakshyaraj Tyagi in 2007. Tayari is known for producing various Ranji Trophy players for Uttar Pradesh. Meghna’s father has helped her a lot in becoming a professional cricketer.
After hard work Meghna started her journey with domestic cricket with the Uttar Pradesh women’s cricket team. Being a domestic bowler, she caught the attention of the selectors with a stellar performance in the Women’s Senior T20 Trophy 2019-20. Meghna took 4 wickets in the tournament to help the Uttar Pradesh team qualify for the semi-finals.
After that in August 2021, she earned her maiden called up for the Indian Women’s cricket team against Australia Women’s, she was named in India’s squad for the one-off women’s Test match. On 21 September 2021, Meghna made her Women Oneday International(WODI) debut for India Against Australia.
She made her Test debut on 30 September 2021, for India against Australia. She made her Women’s T20 International debut for India against Australia On 29 July 2022, in the opening match of the Commonwealth Games cricket tournament.
