She took admission in the Cricket Academy located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, but even here she was not able to practice properly, due to which her father sold the house in Jaipur and bought land nearby where Priya used to practice cricket all day long. Priya plays the role of an opening batsman in the women’s cricket team, who caught the attention of cricket fans in a very short time due to her fast scoring.

In the year 2018, Senior Women’s One Day Championship was organized in which Priya Punia scored a total of 407 runs in 8 matches with 2 half-centuries. She was one of the top 3 batsmen of this championship. Priya also performed well in the Senior Women’s T-20 Championship and scored a total of 382 runs in 10 matches at an average of 45 and from the year 2019, Priya started her international career. On 6 February 2019, She played his first T-20 match against New Zealand. On 2 October the same year, Priya played her first One Day International against South Africa.
