Steven Peter Devereux Smith Was born on 2 June 1989 in Kogarah, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia In a Sports Lover Family. Steve’s father Peter Smith was a resident of Australia but Steve’s mother Gillian Smith was a resident of England, British, due to which Steve has Australian and British citizenship. Steve was very fond of playing cricket since childhood, he started playing cricket from a young age.

Seeing his interest in cricket, his father enrolled him in a cricket academy where he practiced his batting in 2007 Smith’s family moved to England where he started playing club cricket for Sevenoaks Wines in the Kent League And completed his studies but he failed to submit assignments in English subject due to which he failed in Higher Senior Secondary grade after which he left the school And decided to make cricket his professional career.

After some time Steve came back to Australia and started playing domestic matches. He made his T20 Debut for New South Wales on 1 January 2008 against South Australia at Adelaide. Smith made his first-class debut for New South Wales on 25 January 2008 against Western Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground. He was part of the New South Wales team that won the 2009 Twenty20 Champions League.

He also gets a chance to play in the world’s most famous and most expensive league Indian Premier League Tournament. In 2010 Ipl Auction Steve was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2010 Indian Premier League Tournament as a Replacement of Jesse Ryder. In the next 2011 ipl Auction he was bought by the Kochi Tuskers Kerala at the price e $200,000 for the 2011 ipl tournament but he was ruled out due to Ankle Injury.

He went unsold at the 2012 IPL Players Auction, but the in 2013 ipl Auction he was picked by the Pune Warriors as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh. From 2014 to 2015 Ipl Auction Smith was picked by the Rajasthan Royals at the prof ice $600,000. the In 2016 Ipl Auction he was bought by new franchise, the Rising Pune Supergiants at the same previous price.

In 2018 He was Again bought by the Rajasthan Royals he was named as captain of the Rajasthan Royals. But He was involved in a ball-tampering incident and Smith has stood down from that role Ajinkya Rahane took charge as the new captain for the Rajasthan Royals team. In November 2018, Smith was retained by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2019 Indian Premier League and appointed as the captain of the (RR) by replacing Ajinkya Rahane.

Due to his Performance, he got chance to play for the Australia National Cricket team. Smith was named in   Australia’s Squad for the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia. Smith made his T20 International debut as a leg spinner for Australia on 5 February 2010 against Pakistan in Melbourne. He made his One Day International(ODI) debut for Australia on 19 February 2010 against West Indies at Melbourne. A few days later Steve made his Test Debut for Australia on 13 July 2010 Against Pakistan Team at Lord’s Stadium.
