Vivrant loved playing cricket since childhood, he started playing cricket at a young age. After completing his intermediate studies, he focused his attention on cricket and did not complete further studies. Vivrant lost his father Sushil Sharma at the age of 14 due to kidney failure. After this his elder brother took the responsibility of the house and Vivrant got enrolled in the cricket academy and focused on his cricket.
Vivrant started his career as a right-handed batsman but later he switched and became a left-handed batsman and leg-spin bowler at the behest of his brother. He made his T20 debut for Jammu & Kashmir on 4 November 2021 against Andhra Pradesh in the 2021-22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He made his First Class Debut for Jammu & Kashmir on 13 December 2022 against Madhya Pradesh in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy.
Later Vivrant made his List “A” debut for Jammu & Kashmir on 21 February 2021 against the Saurashtra team in the 2021-22 Vijay Hazari Trophy. Due to his Performance, he gets a chance to play in Ipl. In the 2023 Ipl Auction Vivrant Sharma was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the price of 2.60 Crore Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League.
