Yash Thakur was born on 28 December 1998 in Kolkata, West Bangal, India.
Yash loved playing cricket since childhood, he was not at all interested in studies, he told his parents from the beginning that he would not study and become a cricketer. Seeing his great attachment to cricket, his father got him enrolled in Praveen Hinganikar Cricket Academy and he started playing cricket at the age of 13. Although initially he did not know whether he wanted to become a bowler or a batter.
One day his coach got him bowling and he had a very good grip and fast bowling in bowling style after that his coach advised him to bowl and since then he started practicing fast bowling. After which he understood the nuances of bowling and worked hard, after which he started playing domestic cricket for Vidarbha.
On 25 February 2017, Yash made his List “A” Debut for Vidarbha against Punjab at Delhi in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Almost After one year on 28 November 2018, Yash Thakur made his Fist Class Debut for Vidarbha against Chhattisgarh at Raipur in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy.
He made his T20s debut on 21 February 2019 for Vidarbha against Himachal at Surat. PLayed very well in Domestic cricket he got chance to play in IPL ( Indian premier league). Yash was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants in 2023 IPL Auction at the prize Rs. 45 lakhs ahead of 2023 Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut on 3 April 2023 against Chennai Super Kings.
