Cole McConchie is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Canterbury as an all-rounder. He was born on 12 January 1992 in Christchurch, New Zealand. He made his international debut in September 2022 for the New Zealand cricket team.

McConchie made his debut for Canterbury on 25 November 2012 in a List A match against Otago. He played one further List A game for Canterbury that season, before being offered a contract for the 2013–14 season. He made both his first-class and Twenty20 debuts that season.

In November 2017, McConchie, playing only his seventh first-class game, scored his maiden century in a rain-affected draw against Otago. Since this century, he has made a home in the hearts of people. He is an all rounder like Hardik Pandya of India.

McConchie was named as Canterbury captain in 2019. And during his captaincy, he won many matches and earned name.

In June 2019, he was awarded a contract with Canterbury for the 2019–20 season. He was the leading wicket-taker for Canterbury in the 2019–20 Ford Trophy with thirteen dismissals in nine matches.

McConchie was offered a contract by Canterbury in June 2020 ahead of the 2021–22 domestic cricket season. He performed brilliantly in this match as well.

New Zealand A

McConchie was named as captain of the New Zealand A cricket team in November 2021 for warm-up matches against the touring West Indies team.

international career

In August 2022, McConchie was named in New Zealand’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad to tour Bangladesh and in New Zealand’s One Day International (ODI) squad to tour Pakistan. McConchie made his T20I debut for New Zealand against Bangladesh on 1 September 2022, taking a wicket with his first ball in a T20I match. He played in all five matches of the series, scoring 31 runs and taking seven wickets.

In April 2022, he was named in the ODI squad for the series against Pakistan. He made his ODI debut on 3 May 2023 in the 4th ODI of the series. In this match too, he had hit Pakistan for sixes, which had become an international news.
