Devika Vaidya is an Indian Cricketer who plays for maharastra cricket team in Domastic level. She is all rounder player, she is right handed batsman and leg break googly. Devika was born on 13 August 1997 in Pune Maharashtra, India. Devika started playing cricket at the age of 7. She played India A Women, India Women Green, Maharastra women, Velocity.
She liked two things very much in his childhood, Cricket and Taekwondo, she is also a black belt in Taekwondo. Devika saw Steve Waugh taking retirement in the year 2004 and that really moved her, after that she realized that she would like to be like Steve, after which she thought of becoming a cricketer.
Devika started taking a lot of cricket series, after which her mother got her enrolled in the cricket academy of Maharashtra and she used to practice under the direction of coach Atul Gaikwad. At the age of 12, Devika Vaidya was selected in the Under 19 Maharashtra team.
Devika Vaidya was selected for India’s tour of South Africa in 2014 and made her Women’s International Twenty20 debut on 30 November 2014 at Bangalore. Devika was also awarded the MA Chidambaram Trophy for Best Female Junior Cricketer in 2014–15. In November 2018, Devika was included in the India squad for the ICC Women’s World T20 tournament in the West Indies.
In this series she has replaced Pooja Vastrakar as she was injured. Devika was again included in the Indian squad for the T20 series against Australia from 22 December to 23 January. UP Warriors bought Devika Vaidya for Rs1.4cr in Women’s Premier League 2023 auction.
