Ishan Porel is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bengal in domastic cricket as a bowler, He is a Right arm mediam pac bowler and right handed batsman. Currently ishan is playing for Punjab super kings in the Indian premier league. Ishan Porel was born on 5 September 1998 in Hooghly, West Bengal, India.
Porel was born into a Bangali family and sports bachground family. Ishan loves sports since his childhood. He started playing cricket at very young age. At the age of 10 Ishan started playing cricket as a batsman but later he turn his tallent into bowler. Seeing his interest in cricket, his father enrolled him in National Sporting Club Chandannagar and Utpam Chatterjee Cricket Academy in Kolkata where he further groomed his bowling.
Apart from cricket Ishan started swimming and table tennis, but he was not enjoying those games. Porel started his cricket journey at the National Sporting Club in his hometown, Chandannagar. After that He started playing domastic cricket for Bengal cricket team. Porel made his List A debut for Bengal in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Haryana on 25 february 2017.
In the same year Ishan Porel made his First class debut for Bengal on 9 november 2017 against Vidarbha at Kalyani where he took 4 wickets in his debut match. After two years He made his t20 debut for Bengal on 24 february 2019. In december 2017, He was named in India A team for the under 19 cricket world cup 2018 as a fast bowler held in New Zealand.
He played his under 19 world cup match against South Africa on 9 January 2018 and in that match he took 4 wickets for 23 runs. Promoting in semi finals Porel took 4 wickets for 17 runs against Pakistan due to which India won the series with the margin of 207 runs. After played well in domastic cricket and India Under World cup he hot chance to play in indian premier league.
In the 2020 IPL auction, Ishan was bought by the Kings XI Punjab ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League at the base prize 20 Lakh Rs. On 21 September 2021 He made his ipl debut for Kings 11 punjab against Rajasthan Royals. In the next year February 2022 ipl auction, Porel was bought by the Punjab Kings for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament at the sold prize 25 Lakh Rs.
