Jitesh Mohan Sharma was born on 22 October 1993 in Amravati, Maharastra, India, In a middle-class family. Jitesh desired to get into the Indian armed forces since childhood. He initially began playing cricket in his school days at a very young age. Jitesh continued the sport to get some extra marks to enroll in the Indian army.
Because there was such a rule in his school that if a child plays sports, he will get 4% more grace in the Indian Army, Jitesh continued to play cricket. After that, he gave trials for the India Under16 team and got selected he started taking cricket seriously and started playing domestic cricket for the Vidarbha team. Sharma gave brilliant performances in the 2012-13 Cooch Behar Trophy, due to his performance Jitesh was included in the Vidarbha senior team in 2013.
Sharma made his List A debut for Vidarbha team on 27 February 2014 against Rajasthan Team in the 2013-14 Vijay Hazare Trophy at Jaipur. Jitesh made his T20 Debut for Vidarbha on 32 March 2014 against the Uttar Pradesh team in the 2014-15 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Tournament. He made his First Class Debut for Vidarbha on 1 October 2015 against the Odissa team in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy.
With his good performance, he was noticed by the Ipl Franchise and got a chance to play in Ipl. From the 2016 to 2017 Ipl auction Jitesh was bought by the Mumbai Indians at the price of 10 Lakhs Rs for the India Premier League but he did not get a chance to play a single match for Mumbai Team. In the 2018 ipl auction, he was released by the Mumbai Indians.
In the 2022 Ipl Auction Jitesh was bought by the Punjab Kings at the price of 20 Lakhs Rs for the 2022 Ipl Tournament, He made his Ipl Debut for Punjab Kings on 3 April 2022 against Chennai Super Kings. In the 2023 Ipl Auction Jitesh Sharma was Retained by the Punjab Kings at the price of 20 Lakhs Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League Tournament.
In January 2023 Jitesh was named in India’s T20 international squad by the BCCI for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Jitesh was called as a replacement for Sanju Samson, who hurt his knee while fielding in the first match of the series.
