He made his First Class Debut for Durham against the Durham MCCU team. After that Mark made his List “A” debut for Durhan against Northamptonshire in the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40. Due to his Brilliant performance, He gets a chance to play for England Team. Mark Andrew Wood made his One day International(ODI) debut for England on 8 May 2015 against Ireland Team. Wood made his T20 International debut for England on 23 June 2015 against New Zealand Team. He made his Test debut for England on 21 August 2015 against New Zealand Team.
With his Brilliant performance, he was noticed by the Ipl Franchise and got a chance to play in Ipl. In 2018 Ipl Auction Mark was bought by the Chennai Super Kings at the price 1.5 Corers Rs for the 2018 Indian Premier League. In February 2022, at the Ipl Auction he was Bought by the Lucknow Super Giants team at the price of 7.50 Core Rs for the 2022 Ipl Tournament. In 2023 Ipl Mark Wood was retained by the Lucknow Super Giants at the same price of 7.50 Core Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League Tournament.
