Sam Curran was born on 3 June 1998 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. Even though Sam was born in England, he grew up in Zimbabwe and completed his schooling there. In 2012 Sam Curran’s Family Moved to England and complete further studies in England. Sam belongs to a sports family, his father Kevin Curran is a former cricketer of the Zimbabwe team, who has represented the Zimbabwe team at the international level.
Apart from this, he also played county cricket for Northamptonshire. Sam’s older brothers Tom Curran and Ben Curran play cricket for Surry, England, and Northamptonshire. Cricket was in Sam’s veins as everyone in his family used to play cricket, due to which he too became interested in cricket and decided to make cricket a professional career, after which he honed his cricket skills and worked hard.
He started playing domestic cricket for Surrey at the Under-15, Under-17, and Second XI levels. He made his First Class Debut for Surrey on 13 July 2015 against Kent at The Oval in the County Championship. At the age of 17, he became Surrey’s second youngest first-class cricketer in history. He made his List “A” debut for Surrey on 27 July 2015 against Northamptonshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Due to his Brilliant performance he got a chance to play in Ipl. In December 2018 Ipl Auction Sam Was bought by the Mumbai Indians at the price of 7.20 Crore Rs for the 2018 Indian Premier League. In the 2020 IPL auction, he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings at the price of 5.50 Crore Rs ahead of the 2020 Ipl Tournament. In the 2023 Ipl Auction Sam Curran was bought by the Punjab Kings at the Highest price of 18.50 Crore Rs for the 2023 Indian Premier League Tournament.
With his Aggressive Performance soon Curran was noticed by the England Selectors and got a chance to play in England Team. Sam made his Test Debut for England Team on 1 June 2018 against Pakistan Team. He made his One Day International(ODI) debut for England on 24 June 2018 against Australia Team. Later Curran made his T20 International debut for England on 1 November 2019 against New Zealand.
