Krishnappa Gowtham was born on 20 October 1988 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Krishnappa was not very fond of playing cricket since childhood. He made his List A debut for Karnataka against Jharkhand on 25 February 2017 in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Due to his Good performance in Domestic cricket, He got a chance to play in Ipl, In February 2017, Gowtham was Bought by the Mumbai Indian team at the price of 2 Crores Rs, For the 2017 Indian premier league Tournaments.
In the Next 2018 ipl Season Krishnappa was bought by Rajasthan Royals at the price of 6.20 Cr Rs in the 2018 Indian premier league tournaments. He played for three years for Rajasthan Royals after that in the 2021 Ipl auction He was Bought by the Chennai super kings at the highest price 9.25 Crores Rs for the 2021 ipl tournaments. Gowtham became the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL.
In February 2022, he was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants at the price of 90 Lakhs Rs. In the 2023 IPL Auction Krishnappa Gowtham was retained by the Lucknow Super Giants With the price of 90 Lakhs Rs for the 2023 Indian premier league tournament.
Apart from Ipl Career Gowthan also got a chance to play for the Indian National cricket team. Krishnappa made his One Day International (ODI) debut for India Against Shri Lanka on 23 July 2021.
